i am starting the process of photographing most of my print pieces for portfolio showcasing, both online and print. i am quite happy with the results. more to come...

continuing with my website update, i have been working with a few layout options for the portfolio section. i went from a series of subcategories and corresponding numbers, resulting in a lot of clicking to a simpler and more user friendly end product. regardless of the layout and actionscript options that i went through, as of now, when the viewer clicks on the "portfolio" link, there is immediately a set of nine thumbnails that, once clicked upon, brings the viewer to either a close up view, or a series of related pieces. the main difference now is that when the viewer clicks on the "portfolio" link, the images immediately appear, offering an initial preview, opposed to subcategories and numbers. of course, as always, now that this update is active, work begins on the next update. never ending i say!

okay, i have completed my current website update. there are just a few minor changes, along with some changes to the portfolio section, and an update to the portfolio itself. but, the work is not done, for after i complete my other projects, it is time to rebrand myself and create some new layout concepts for the website, including a revamp to the navigation. a designer never finds completion!

i am now beginning the much anticipated design job search. i am interested in a shift away from the corporate in-house design world toward that of the creative design studio. i am also interested in a move away from sacramento to a new and exciting city where design thrives and new opportunities await.

also, from here on out, this blog will be used as an experimental forum where frequent art and design posts will be made, as well as writings, research, and links of interest. as a result, my website will be kept clean and simple with no more than 24 portfolio pieces at a given time.
